MARIA-A PROSTITUTE.

How many of you love reading books? Many of us are addicted to reading. Many of us think reading is just a waste of time. I am gonna do a book review which is boring. It is not only about the book. It is also about the worries and deep thoughts a person goes through. So the book's name is 11 minutes written by Paulo Coelho. It is about a prostitute.  For the society, a prostitute is always a slut or a dirty person. But this book will change your mind.

Maria is the main character of the book. She is a young brazilian prostitute. All she want in her life is a good husband with a lot of money. She didn't have a good life when she was a teen. She left her hometown Brazil and goes to Switzerland for finding a job. She ends up working in a nightclub and she becomes dissatisfied and storms out of the club. Then she tries to become a model but she couldn't. She was a pretty woman. Men were only attracted to her external beauty. All men had only sexual desires when they saw Maria. She promised her family that she would earn. Since none of her job worked out, she ran out of money.

Then we have an Arab character. He offered Maria 1000 francs(switzerland currency) to spent a night with him. Maria was in need of money. She didn't have any other option. Because of her living condition and the promise she made to her family, she decides to sleep with him. Then she becomes a prostitute in a brothel on Rue de Berne(district). She prepares her mind, forget about finding a new love and decides to give her body. Milan, the owner of the brothel is a strict character. He didn't want to his children to know that he was the owner of a club with prostitutes. Milan gave Maria tips on how to buy more clients. He made sure that none of the prostitutes fell in love with their clients

Soon Maria becomes a professional prostitute. She only shared her body and not her soul. She wanted that one love who would change her life forever. She not only fulfilled the sexual desires of her clients. She cleansed their soul. They had problems. Most of the clients were businessmen or managers. Maria believed rich people where always worried and tensed.

Now this is where everything changes. She finds her true love. She meets Ralf, a young painter who sees her "inner light." She falls in love with him. For the first time she experiences true love.Maria decides to go to her hometown, Brazil. Maria thought Ralf didn't know about this, but he did. Ralf, Maria's one and only true love decides to meet her in the airport. Maria with excitement hugs Ralf. The story ends here. The author doesn't mention about Ralf and Maria getting married.

This book has a lot more than this. A lot of pain, sacrifice and finding that one man. That one man who only cared about your soul and not the way you looked or not judging you by your job. It is a good book, but not as good as The Alchemist. But it says a lot about pain and suffering. It has adult content. I know so many people who read this book. They are all focused on the "adult content". Try to focus the good things in the book. Every book teaches us a lesson. So here is a question for you. Have you read 11 minutes or any other book that taught you a good lesson? If yes mail me.I love reading reviews and different thoughts.Stay home.Stay safe.Stay happy.

  1. Great read girl. Every book we read we get attracted towards negative lines and ,many don't read such books because of this nature. I really appreciate it as you focused on positive sides of the book. It inspires many to read and i feeling like finding that book and start reading. Thank for exposing me to new books.
